About the Original Work
“The Amazon’s Princess and Her Pet,” also known as “The Amazon’s Pet,” is one of Vallejo’s defining works. Painted in 1977, it depicts a powerful Amazonian woman and her chained beast, a striking example of Vallejo’s ability to blend sensuality and strength. The painting earned him the British Fantasy Award for Best Artist in 1979, cementing its place in the annals of fantasy art history.
